In discipline lies freedom. Isn't that so true??? Just think about it. Doesn't your day go so much better when it's all scheduled & laid out ahead of time? You know where you need to be & when. You can cross things off your to-do list as you do them. You even know what's going to be on the dinner table that night! You can go through your day without worrying what's coming next. First on my "Discipline List" is menu making...

I HATE figuring out what to make for dinner. I especially hate when it's 5:00 & I haven't figured it out yet! I finally got the cookbook I've been waiting for in the mail 2 days ago. I'm sure it could change my life if I actually do what it tells me to do! It says that it's possible to make 30 meals in one day. Can you imagine how freeing that would be for the rest of the month???? I went through the whole book yesterday & chose the meals that I want to make. I only chose enough to make 14 meals - gotta start small! The book tells me that I need to set aside a whole day when I have nothing else going on to put together these meals. For real? Like, when is that ever going to happen????? Jeff said I should try to do it over the weekend. Yeah, right! That's just what I want... the family running in & out of the kitchen saying "I'm hungry! What can I have to eat?" and then getting all in my business! Not to mention that I'm a VERY messy cook so it's NOT going to be pretty when I'm doing this. I'd rather not have anyone in my "war zone"!

I'm aiming for next Tuesday to make the meals. I'll keep you posted how it goes... maybe I'll even post a picture of all of the fun that I'm sure to be having! :-)

Make me happy Mailman!

My life is going to be total chaos starting 2 weeks from today! Metabolic Makeover will be kicking off that week so I'll be getting up at 5:00am most days to train my 5:30 group. For those who know me, you'll know that I am a NIGHT OWL!!! I used to work out at 5:15 but it was really my choice whether I wanted to show up or not. Now that I will have people depending on me to be there... and PAYING for it, I have no choice but to show up. Gotta figure out how to get this body to sleep earlier!!! On top of that, I will also be coaching Girls on the Run twice a week which also starts that week. Add to that Megan's cheering twice a week and the girls dancing once a week, school volunteering, homework, dancing with Jeff, planning for some Fall parties, OH... and just trying to run this household, and it's going to be C-R-A-Z-Y!!!! And for those same people who know me, you also know that I am not the most organized and certainly nowhere NEAR a type A personality so this might just be enough to send me over the edge! :-)

So I ordered something online that I'm hoping will make my life simpler. No, it's not a clone (although that would be extremely nice when it's time to scrub the floors & the toilets!) It's a cookbook called "30 Meals in One Day". If all goes according to plan, I should only have to spend ONE day in the kitchen making enough meals to freeze for a whole month!!! Of course that one day in the kitchen will probably be pure HELL, but if it keeps me from having to be in there the other 29 days then it might be worth it!!!

I'm crossing my fingers that it will come today & I can get one area of my life organized!!!

Welcome to my blog!

Do you ever feel like everyone around you is doing something & you feel so behind the 8 ball because you're not? I'm a Facebook FANATIC, but now it seems a lot of people are tweeting (or is it twittering?!) &, try as I might, I just can't get the hang of it!!! I keep trying to get on there & figure that maybe *this time* I'll get it.... and still I don't!!! And then there's blogging... I feel like everyone around me is blogging about something and I have somehow missed the blogging boat! Until now.

It hit me tonight as I was reading a couple of friends' blogs that this would be such a great thing to do for my workout groups. There have been so many times during my workouts with other people that someone will talk about what a great (healthy) dinner they made the night before. Someone will inevitably say "Hey, could you send me that recipe?" Then others chime in, "Yeah, send that to me too!" Or sometimes one of the trainers would have a great "Thought for the Day" and everyone would want that sent to them too. Wouldn't it be great to have a place where all of that information can be found?

I am CERTAINLY not a writer so don't expect this to be a great form of literature!!! I don't have any fancy words or any deep philosophical thoughts that I'll be sharing with you. It will just be a way for me to let you all know what kind of pain... I mean workouts... are coming for the week or just a way to keep you motivated. My hope is to post on here at least once a week, maybe more, but possibly less. If you want me to impart any special wisdom on here (stop laughing!), let me know & I'll see what I can google! :-)

Stay pumped!

:-)
